The University's internal magazine, UniLife, is produced by IPRO. This publication is aimed at all grades of University staff, not just academic colleagues, and is intended to function as a community magazine. As well as features and news stories, it includes listings for seminars and events around campus, and a small ads section.
The Public Relations Office is responsible for managing the University's media relations. In addition to dealing with enquiries from the media, which consist mainly of requests for experts to talk about topical issues and corporate comments from the University, the Public Relations Office also proactively gathers news from around the campus and promotes it to the outside world.
In order to enable the Public Relations Office to effectively find out about what is happening around the campus, a News Gathering Network has been set up. The aim is to have a correspondent in all of the University's departments, keeping the Public Relations Office informed about newsworthy and interesting events. The Network currently has more than 80 members in more than 50 departments.
The Public Relations Office are happy to advise on all aspects of publicity and dealing with the media.
